American Soldier, thank you.
For 90 years, the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month has been a remembrance of those who served America in a time of war. History books state that U.S. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed an Armistice Day for November 11, 1919. The United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution seven years later on June 4, 1926, requesting the President issue another proclamation to observe November 11 with appropriate ceremonies. An Act approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday; “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as ‘Armistice Day’.”
Although I have never had the honor nor the privilege to serve my country through the armed forces, I have so many people around me that have and currently are. To all of you and to all of those I don’t even know, THANK YOU. Thank you for your service and time and generous patience as you have spent hours and days, possibly months and a couple of years away from your loved ones so that we back home may have the freedoms that we do today.
Having been a “military brat” all my life and then married to military, I can truly appreciate the work that goes into being a GOOD soldier. Regardless of age, race, gender, religion, officer or enlisted, the GOOD soldier in my humble opinion is the one that puts God and country first. A fighter yet protector, he or she is willing to put their own life on the line for complete strangers. Reflect on that for a moment……DYING FOR COMPLETE STRANGERS!
Veterans Day is a day in which we should stop what we are doing for just a few minutes at least (if you’re on a “busy” schedule) and just reflect on the freedoms we have because of the lives that have been lost, in honor of our country, in honor of our freedom. You don’t have to support the war. As a matter of fact, I don’t know many people that do like war! But the fact of the matter is that we are at war, so we must support our troops. They miss their families and friends just as much as we miss them, trust me.
When they leave us from this world to be with God because they laid their life down for us, that is when we need to be our strongest so that the world knows they died for a good cause, a real cause, in honor.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, American Soldier.

Beautiful! A few minutes to reflect, an excellent idea :~]
I completely agree :) If we have enough time set up a DVR schedule, surely we should have more than enough time to reflect on the soldiers that serve the greatest country in the world.

Hi – very good site you have created. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a remark to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically delightful. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor for a marketing firm. I have always enjoyed playing with information processing systems and am trying to learn computer code in my free time (which there is never enough of lol).
Thank you for your comments! I’m glad you like it ;o) I’m so picky about the look of it, but I’m really glad to see that it pays off and is easy on the eyes!
Violette, thank you for your kind words. I’ll be sure to look you up. I’ll send you a comment or two ;o) I appreciate the feedback.

There is not much to tell except the following universal truth: The most embarrassing thing you can do as schoolchild is to call your teacher mum or dad. I will be back.
